Thursday, 19.10.2023 | Training
The autumn training cycle is underway at the Dog Training Centre in Niš for dog handlers and military working dogs. The dogs are being trained and retrained for different purposes, in accordance with the needs of the Serbian Armed Forces.
At the moment, anti-terrorism and anti-sabotage training for special forces and MP units is being carried out at the Centre, as well as training in protecting the facilities and movable assets of the Serbian Armed Forces.
In accordance with the dogs’ roles, general training and practice of specific activities such as attack, defence, negotiating natural and artificial obstacles, breaking into buildings and motor vehicles and neutralizing the opponent is being carried out at the specialized training ground. The aim is for the dog handlers to take full control of the dogs and effectively guide them when performing duty.
Working dogs are irreplaceable companions on numerous tasks in the Serbian Armed Forces due to their superior senses and ability to tackle the opponent quickly and without the use of lethal force, and the training that is currently being carried out is only one of the activities offered by the Dog Training Centre.
This Training Command unit is responsible for dog training, breeding and providing them with, as well as for the education of veterinarian service personnel.
