Military Holidays Marked

There have been military ceremonies in SAF garrisons today to mark the holidays of the Artillery, Military Police, Quartermaster, Technical and Transportation Services, as well as the Day of the Mixed Artillery Brigade and Day of the Logistics Training Centre.
The ceremonies involved reading the congratulations on the holidays, summary of the results achieved in the recent period and presentation of the awards and commendations to the most distinguished individuals.
The Artillery Day and Day of the Mixed Artillery Brigade are marked on 14 September in memory of the day in 1918 when the artillery preparation for the breakthrough of the Salonika Front began.
The Military Police Day is marked on 14 September in memory of the day in 1955 when the Military Police in the Yugoslav People's Army was established.
The Quartermaster Service Day is marked in memory of 14 September 1885 when the Order on the Chief Quartermaster and Administration Services of the General Staff was issued.
The Technical Service Day and Day of the Logistics Training Centre are marked on 15 September in memory of the day in 1891 when Powder Magazine "Obilićevo" near Kruševac started the production of nitrocellulose (smokeless) powder.
The Transportation Service Day is marked in memory of 15 September 1908 when the Decree on the Establishment of the Transportation Service was issued.
