Intensive training of individuals and units for the implementation of military police and general security tasks in the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces is underway in MP battalions of the Army.
In accordance with the training program, in this phase, members of MP units carry out preparatory firing at the training grounds and firing ranges of the Serbian Armed Forces, practicing the tactics, techniques and procedures for performing specific military police tasks according to specially elaborated scenarios.
A platoon commander in an MP unit explains that the focus is on training newly recruited professional soldiers and NCOs, who are now being trained to respond quickly and efficiently in various situations of security threats, primarily in performing the tasks of territorial control.
— During the training process, we use modern equipment of domestic production, which makes the execution of MP tasks even more successful — emphasized the commander adding that, in addition to ballistic equipment, the unit was also being equipped with modern sniper rifles and fighting combat vehicles of domestic production.
A military policeman posted to the unit three months ago, explained that he had joined the unit after completing voluntary military service.
— I was attracted to the military police by its uniqueness and way of conducting training, especially by the counter-terrorist training elements this unit is largely focused on. In addition to tactical and firearms training, as one of the more important contents, I would also single out the military police patrol and preparatory firing using the 5.56 mm M21 automatic rifle and the 9 mm EZ 99 semi-automatic pistol - said the military policeman involved in the training activity.
The military police units are equipped with modern assets and weapons of domestic and foreign production, which, along with continuous training, ensures the required ability to deal effectively with the affairs and tasks stipulated by law, other regulations and orders issued by commanders in all three missions of the Serbian Armed Forces.
