Reception on the Occasion of Telecommunication Service Day

On the occasion of the forthcoming Telecommunication Service Day, the Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command, Major General Ilija Todorov received a delegation of this service led by Head of the Telecommunications and IT Department Brigadier General Ljubiša Đolović.
General Todorov greeted members of the service, praised accomplishments and expressed his expectation that they will continue professionally performing assigned tasks in the future.
The Day of Telecommunications Service is celebrated on September 20 to commemorate the day in 1916 when the Military Telegraph Decree was adopted. Based on that decree, the signal units were separated from the engineering branch, grew into battalion-regiment units, and the signals became an independent branch of the army.
