OPCW Instructors Train in CBRN Centre
Thursday, 4.4.2019 | International Co-operation
The Training Course with Real Toxic Chemicals for members of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is being carried out in the CBRN Centre in “Car Lazar” barracks in Kruševac.
Course participants—18 chemical weapons inspectors from 14 countries—will be trained for the use of tools for chemical detection and real agents identification.
The OPCW appointed its instructors from the Netherlands for this two-week activity, implemented with the support of the CBRN Centre, the 246th CBRN Battalion and the Military Medical Academy.
The realisation of this course is a continuity of cooperation between the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and Serbian Ministry of Defence on the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, especially when it comes to carrying out these training courses with real toxic chemicals. Since 2007, 17 such programs have been carried out for the OPCW Inspectorate.
