Thursday, 25.4.2024 | Training
The 126th Air Surveillance, Early Warning and Guidance (ASEWG) Brigade is currently conducting the training for professional members on long-range surveillance radars GM-400 which were fielded into the Serbian Armed Forces last year.
The intensive training on these modern radar systems is carried out daily, in order to train as many crews as possible for their use and to be ready for the arrival of new short and medium range radars from the GM (Ground Master) family, which have the same principle of operation.
The training includes theoretical content in the field of radar technology and practical work on the system, when the crews practise the procedures for the collection, processing and distribution of radar observation data and the technical staff tasked to maintain the hardware and software components of the system exercises their work.
The GM-400 radar model acquired by the Republic of Serbia is considered to be the best long-range radar in the world at this moment, and its introduction into operational use in the Serbian Armed Forces has met the highest standards in the implementation of airspace control tasks, guidance of combat aviation for fighter purposes, directing artillery- missile units for anti-aircraft operations and providing navigational assistance to aircraft in emergencies.
