Marking the Day of 4th Army Brigade

A military ceremony was held today in the barracks "First Infantry Regiment of Prince Miloš the Great" in Vranje on the occasion of the Day of the 4th Army Brigade, which is commemorated on January 31, 1878, when the Serbian military liberated Vranje.
On the occasion of the holiday, in front of the ceremonial formation of members of the brigade, the results of the work of the unit in the previous year were summarized and the most prominent individuals were given awards and recognitions.
In view of the results achieved in the year behind us, the professionalism, dedication and expertise of the members of the 4th Brigade in the implementation of all assigned tasks were highlighted, primarily during the engagement along the administrative line with Kosovo and Metohija, which showed that they are the guarantor of the security of all citizens in this part of the Republic of Serbia.
The ceremony was attended by the Army Commander, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, the mayor of Vranje Slobodan Milenković, the Bishop of Vranje Pahomije and the commanders of other Army units.
Members of the Fourth Army Brigade today celebrated the Patron Saint of the unit — St Athanasius the Great, and on the occasion of the Liberation Day, a delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces led by Lieutenant General Milosav Simović laid a wreath at the monument to the liberators of Vranje from 1878.
