Across peacetime locations of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade’s self-propelled battalions, combat crews are currently undergoing intense training with the "Kub” missile systems.
Actually, there is continuous training going on in the unit throughout the year in order to have professional members with the highest proficiency in performing the tasks of air defence of the territory and SAF forces.
At this point, the focus is being kept on refining standardized tactical actions during gun emplacement, switching the missile systems into the combat-ready mode, as well as procedures in immediate preparation for and execution of firing at aerial targets, in line with defined time standards, having in mind that the speed of reaction of the combat crews is instrumental in performing the tasks successfully.
To provide training conditions as realistic as possible, aviation and ASEWG units are also involved in the training process.
The air defence missile system "Kub" is intended to destroy aerial targets at short and medium altitudes; it is highly mobile and capable of centralized command and fire management at the battalion level. Modernization of this system is currently in progress aiming to improve its efficacy and combat capabilities, and, consequently, the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces to ensure control and protection of the airspace.
