Visit by Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan

At the invitation of Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, General Karim Valiyev, is paying a three-day visit to our country.

Today, General Valijev has visited the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, where he discussed with General Mojsilović the current security situation in the region and world and cooperation in the field of defense.

In a conversation, the commitment of both sides was confirmed to intensifying significantly the military-to-military cooperation in all areas of common interest, primarily through the execution of joint activities of the Army, Air Force and special force units, following excellent relations at the highest state level.

The process of building combat readiness, operations planning, humanitarian demining and civil-military cooperation have been identified as areas of cooperation that can yield clearly visible and concrete results, and satisfaction has also been expressed that members of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan will take part in international courses organized by the Serbian Armed Forces.

Today, General Valiyev has had a meeting with Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić, and tomorrow he will be presented with the capabilities and scope of work of one of the units of the Serbian Armed Forces.

Such high-level bilateral meetings contribute to mutual understanding and confidence and give a significant impetus to the improvement of joint defense cooperation aimed at building the capabilities of the armed forces.
