Training of River Flotilla Divers

On the part of the Danube near Novi Sad, members of the diving unit from the River Flotilla conduct regular training for a wide range of tasks in the intake of inland waterways.
The training is carried out on water, under water and in the intake of the river, in accordance with the purpose of the unit and the nature of the tasks it performs, in order to preserve and improve the capability and combat readiness of the unit.
In accordance with the training program, they are training for the execution of diving tasks while securing ships at an unmanaged anchorage, searching the river bottom, overcoming underwater obstacles and longitudinal diving in azimuth, with the use of modern underwater weapons.
Diving training in the Serbian Armed Forces is very demanding and complex, because divers are expected to be ready to act in extreme conditions at all times, and only the highest level of training guarantees the successful execution of specific tasks, both offensive and defensive in nature.
