Winter Training of River Flotilla Divers

On the part of the Danube near Novi Sad, River Flotilla divers carry out regular training and conditioning in winter and in conditions of reduced visibility.
Training is conducted in order to maintain and improve the ability of divers to perform demanding diving tasks on rivers, canals and lakes in all hydrometeorological conditions.
During this training period, divers practice procedures when diving at very low water temperatures, searching the river bottom, finding and retrieving sunken objects, as well as tactical actions used in anti-sabotage security of the flag ship in the assigned area.
A large number of complex tasks for which the diving unit of the Serbian Armed Forces is intended requires exceptional training and psychophysical ability of river divers. Therefore, it is necessary that their training is conducted throughout the year in order to be able to deal with the most difficult situations at any time and be ready for the biggest psychophysical efforts.
