Day of Special Purpose MP Detachment Cobras

A military ceremony has been held at the “Vasa Čarapić” Barracks in Belgrade today to mark the Day of the Special Purpose MP Detachment “Cobras”, in memory of April 14, 1978, when the MP Department for Counter-Terrorist Actions was formed, whose traditions this Detachment continues.
In front of the ceremonial formation of the unit members, congratulations were read, work results in the previous period outlined, and the most remarkable individuals presented with awards and commendations.
In reviewing the achieved results, it has been pointed out that in the year behind the strengthening of the unit continued, the operational capabilities and skills of the “Cobras” were improved, as demonstrated by members of the Detachment through their successful implementation of all assigned tasks, as well as notable results at competitions in the country and abroad.
The Special Purpose MP Detachment “Cobras” is a unit directly subordinated to the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and is intended for security and anti-terrorist protection of certain persons and facilities.
