The host of this year’s championship, organized by the Aeronautical Union of Serbia, was the 63rd Parachute Brigade, since this year marks the 80th anniversary of the formation of the first military parachute unit.
Paratroopers competed in 1000m jumps to a target whose diameter was only 2cm. Six teams from Serbia and one from Bosnia and Herzegovina took part.
The competition included eight planned rounds, as well as additional semi-final and final jumps. Winners were determined according to the lowest total score after all jumps.
The titles of state champions were awarded to the most precise individuals and teams, while the most successful in the open competition received special awards. Cups, medals and diplomas in the team competition were presented by Mayor of Niš Dragoslav Pavlović.
The success of the 63rd Parachute Brigade members at the state championship is a continuation of their excellent results scored at domestic and international competitions and an indicator that military paratroopers possess excellent skills and a high athletic and fighting spirit.
