Thursday, 21.4.2022 | Multinational Operations
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces Military Police squad, deployed with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus since last October, returned to the Republic of Serbia yesterday evening following their successful participation in the mission and handover of duties to a new contingent.
As part of the British contingent over the last six months they have been showing high-level competence and professionalism completing all their assignments under the mission's mandate and representing the Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia in the best way.
The SAF MP squad deployed with UNFICYP performs a wide range of tasks alongside the British Armed Forces such as the contingent’s protection, UN-led investigation, security patrols, VIP escort and cooperation with local police forces.
In addition to an MP squad, the Serbian Armed Forces deploy their staff officers in the mission’s headquarters in Nicosia.
