Training of Handlers and Military Working Dogs in MP Units

Members of the MP Battalion of the Army underwent training in performing specific MP tasks with the use of MWDs in the exercise area in the vicinity of Niš.
The training objective was to preserve and improve further the skills of dog handlers needed to apply properly the procedures during the execution of tasks with MWDs intended for protection and search services.
This training activity consists of the segments such as: searching the land and facilities in the vicinity of the river, searching discarded objects by a criminal suspect, identifying the suspect, discovering mines and explosive ordnance and various psychoactive substances, to name but a few.
MP members undergo training which is diverse and quite demanding; it is vital to have a high-level of competence and skills in performing tasks with MWDs due to their ability to detect potential danger and defeat the enemy quickly, without the use of lethal force.
