Gun Salute on Occasion of Serbian Armed Forces Day
Monday, 22.4.2024 | Culture and traditions
Based on the Order of Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, members of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard performed a gun salute on the occasion of celebrating 23 April— the Serbian Armed Forces Day.
Ten volleys from six artillery pieces each were fired from the Sava Plateau on Kalemegdan, which came after raising the national flag, playing the anthem of the Republic of Serbia and reading the order for firing the gun salute.
The Serbian Armed Forces celebrate their holiday on 23 April, in memory of the day when the Second Serbian Uprising broke out in 1815, an event that represented a turning point in the establishment of a modern Serbian state and armed forces.
