Tuesday, 26.3.2024 | Training
Today, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović has visited members of the 36th Tank Battalion, 3rd Army Brigade, who are executing regular training and firing from armored units’ weapons at the Training Ground “Orešac”.
This week, at this automated firing range used for preparatory and school firing of the SAF armored units, the M-84 tank crewmen have been practicing engaging targets at varied distances during the day and at night, in preparation for the upcoming live firing and participation in tactical exercises.
Together with the tank battalion members— young gunners, tank drivers and officers — General Mojsilović has also conducted firing today in order to do conditioning and prepare for live firing he is going to participate in.
Having conducted firing successfully, in a conversation with the tank crewmen of the 3rd Army Brigade, General Mojsilović has expressed his satisfaction not only with their skills and commitment during training, but also with the fact that they have received new equipment recently, stressing that investments in tank units will continue, so that they could remain a precise and reliable striking maneuver force of the Serbian Armed Forces in the prevailing conditions on the modern battlefield.
The M-84 tanks are the basic combat asset of the Army brigades’ tank battalions. They are intended for rapid, decisive, sudden and powerful combat actions, primarily while conducting offensive combat operations, but also in anti-armor warfare, which ensures their primary role and importance in the first and second missions of the Serbian Armed Forces.
