At the Logistics Training Center in Kruševac, soldiers on voluntary military service of the June 2024 intake are training to perform logistics duties in the Serbian Armed Forces’ units.

During this part of military service, which lasts for six weeks, soldiers of the logistics specialties undergo theoretical and practical training to perform a wide range of tasks related to the technical and quartermaster services.

Training is carried out in specially equipped study rooms, in field conditions using combat and non-combat assets, in order to provide soldiers with the best conditions for learning about crews’ duties and basic maintenance of weapons and military equipment, as well as general logistics.

Personnel of the technical and quartermaster services are trained in the Kruševac Garrison; according to Commander of the Logistics Training Center Colonel Saša Petković, training at the Car Lazar Barracks in Kruševac is demanding and requires commitment, but it results in the acquisition of practical knowledge.

— After successful completion of training at the basic training centers of the Training Command, soldiers are transferred to specialist training centers, where the second phase of the first training period takes place. Training is dynamic, requires commitment and continuous work. After completing the training process, the soldiers are fully trained to work with the assets and equipment of their services - said Colonel Petković.

The Technical Service Training Company delivers training for the soldiers on military service of the technical and quartermaster services, as well as for professional soldiers preparing for additional specialties and additional training.

Second Lieutenant Ana Vesović, commander of the training team for military mechanical specialties at the Logistics Training Center, states that the company provides training in several specialties.

— The company implements training in 19 different military mechanical specialties, electro-technical, electro-energetic and technical-technological. Soldiers are trained as mechanics for wheeled motor vehicles. Here they are undergoing training for the basic specialty, after which they will be qualified for initial duties in the workshop, i.e. as mechanics for wheeled motor vehicles, said Second Lieutenant Vesović.

One of the soldiers of the June 2024 intake who is training to be a mechanical technician is Private 1st Class Darko Pantović, who signed up for military service out of love for his homeland and Serbian Armed Forces, and at the same time he decided to upgrade his knowledge of a mechanical technician acquired through his previous civilian education.

— I am more than satisfied with the training activities we have had in the last two months, they have met all my expectations. The most challenging and the most interesting moment of the military service so far was the camp. We learned a lot. In the army, we learned order, work and discipline, which is the most important thing. I met a lot of friends for a lifetime, said Pantović.

After completing basic training, Private 1st Class Davud Brunčević joined the quartermaster service company where he is training as a cook, and he is planning on pursuing his career further in the Serbian Armed Forces after completing the training process.

— The motive for enlisting in the army was love for the homeland, first of all, to join the first ranks for defending the homeland, the people, and then perfect the specialty for which we were selected. Every day we learn something new, and the instructors share their professionalism and experience with us - said Private 1st Class Brunčević.

After completing this training phase, the soldiers will undergo a skills assessment and then transfer to the Serbian Armed Forces’ units, to attend collective training for the rest of their military service.
