The Commander of the National Guard Cyprus, Lieutenant General Jorgos Tsitsikostas, is on a return visit to our country at the invitation of the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.

Today, General Tsitsikostas visited the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, where he and General Mojsilović discussed the current security situation in the region and the world and the possibilities for further improvement of bilateral military cooperation.

In the conversation, the traditionally good and friendly relations of our two countries were highlighted and the commitment to the further development of military-to-military cooperation in all areas of mutual interest was confirmed, with an emphasis on the implementation of joint activities of the Army, Air and Special Forces.

The previous cooperation was assessed as very successful and versatile, with the conclusion that it was fully in the function of strengthening the capabilities and interoperability of the armed forces and mutual understanding and that the same trend should continue in the future.

Later in the day, General Tsitsikostas together with General Mojsilović visited the military airport "Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović" in Batajnica, and tomorrow he will be introduced with part of the capabilities of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade at the "Orešac" training area and, subsequently, the production program of the Public Enterprise "Jugoimport SDPR".

The visit of General Tsikitsostas reflects the continuity in the implementation of high-level activities between the two militaries and is in line with the agreement to intensify military-to-military cooperation, which was reached during the visit of General Mojsilović to Cyprus in April this year. Such high-level bilateral meetings contribute to mutual understanding and trust and provide a significant incentive to the improvement of joint cooperation in the field of defense, which aims to build the capabilities and interoperability of the armed forces.
