Humanitarian Action by SAF Contingent in Central African Republic
Wednesday, 31.8.2022 | Multinational Operations
Members of the SAF contingent in the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) organized a humanitarian action at the Centre for Mothers and Children in Bangui, the capital city.
A donation consisting of basic necessities for the children of this institution who are 5 years old and younger was collected by our staff officers and members of the Military Hospital level 2+, continuing the practice of previous SAF contingents engaged in this mission.
This is another humanitarian action, among many others, undertaken traditionally by SAF members deployed on peacekeeping operations, not only in a country to which they were deployed, but also in the Republic of Serbia upon their return from the mission. In addition to their humanitarian character, they contribute to mutual confidence building between SAF members and local population.
The Serbian Armed Forces started to participate in MINUSCA in 2014 by deploying their medical and non-medical personnel. Except for the Military Hospital level 2+, they also deploy their members as staff officers and military observers. The Serbian Military Hospital, which became fully autonom0us and self-sustaining two years ago, provides medical care (level 1 and 2) to UN personnel, emergency surgeries and other emergencies, primary dental care and CASEVAC.
