Day of SAF Guard Marked

A military ceremony was held at "Dedinje" Barracks in Belgrade today on the occasion of the Day of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard and in memory of 06 May 1830, the day when the first Serbian Guard unit was established in Požarevac.
It was attended by Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Petar Cvetković, representatives from organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces and numerous guests.
As part of the ceremony, the Guard units and a motorized echelon paraded to the tunes performed by the Guard-Representative Orchestra. The recent achievements were outlined and most successful individuals awarded.
Today, the Guard members also marked the St. George Day honoring this great martyr as their Saint Patron.
