Rotation of SAF Contingent in EU mission in CAR
Thursday, 14.4.2022 | Multinational Operations
A Serbian Armed Forces’ contingent, deployed in the EU military operation in the Central African Republic since October, returned to the Republic of Serbia last night following a successful participation in the mission and a new contingent assuming its duties.
Over the last six months our team has completed all assignments in the field of preventive medical protection and treatment of the injured or ill mission force members. Military medical service and SAF personnel have demonstrated their high-level competence and professionalism in the best possible way.
The SAF contingent deployed in this EU military operation consists of a staff officer - head of the medical service in the mission’s headquarters - and a six-member medical team. In early April, their colleges, doctors and medical technicians, arrived in the area of operation to replace them in the Central African Republic.
Serbian Armed Forces started their engagement in the EU mission in the Central African Republic in 2016. Through participation in EU military operations within the framework of the Common Security and Defence Policy, SAF members contribute, not only to preserving peace in the world, but also to the European integration process and stronger foreign political position of our country.
