There have been ceremonies in the Serbian Armed Forces today marking the Day of the Air Defence Artillery-Missile Units and Day of the Technical Overhaul Institute “Čačak”.
Day of the AD Artillery-Missile Units, marked in memory of 30 September 1915 when Private Radoje Raka Ljutovac downed the enemy aircraft with a modified field cannon, was a central ceremony at “Banjica” Barracks in Belgrade. The celebration involved a ceremonial parade, showcase of arms and military equipment, laying of wreaths at the barracks’ memorial and handing of awards and recognitions to the most distinguished individuals.
The holiday was an opportunity to reiterate the high-level competence of AD Artillery-Missile Units’ members and how much they have contributed to the increase in SAF operational capabilities and security of the air space of our country.
On the occasion of the Day of the Technical Overhaul Institute “Čačak”, a military ceremony has been held at this institute in memory of the 30th September 1925 decision on ceding the municipal land in order to build the engineer-technical institute in Čačak.
The ceremony involved handing recognitions to the most successful individuals and summarizing the Institute’s working results, remembering its successful implementation of the plans of technical maintenance and general overhaul of the materiel in the year behind us, which helped in the reinforcement of SAF operational capabilities.
