The Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić, visited today the newly built facilities within the grounds of the "Corporal Momčilo Gavrić" barracks in Loznica.
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Gen. Milan Mojsilović welcomed President Vučić, who then inspected the honour guard.
During his tour of the barracks, where the 111th Infantry Battalion of the First Army Brigade is stationed, President Vučić was accompanied by the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and Deputy Prime Minister Aleksander Vulin, who is responsible for monitoring the status of projects within the purview of several ministries and special Government organizations in coordination with the President of the Republic.
The President of Serbia inspected the newly built accommodation facilities for personnel and was briefed about the implementation of the planned infrastructure projects aiming to revitalize the barracks. President Vučić emphasized the importance of the project for the entire Loznica region.
It is important, President Vučić said, that the Serbian Armed Forces have more soldiers. According to him, there is a great number of candidates interested in applying for admission to Special Forces and large incomes await them in the future.
— In this manner, we will considerably strengthen our combat capabilities, combat readiness. In September, we will launch another competition, and I would like to invite all citizens of Serbia who love their country and want to earn a lot, who are committed and ready to defend their homeland at all times, to apply and provide their families with a new future and security. It is not easy, but they should know that they are doing important work for Serbia — said President Vučić.
During the tour, the president inspected the living and working conditions at the 111th Infantry Battalion and was presented with Lazar-3 armoured fighting vehicles, which are used by this unit.
President Vučić said that Serbia had not displayed all of its military equipment and announced the acquisition of more equipment in the future.
— We work very hard and invest a lot of money, because our doctrine has changed. Today it is much more serious, complex, and demanding. Speaking of the doctrine and our strategic and tactical commitments, we will strengthen much faster — said President Vučić.
