Intensive Activities at the Joint Exercise Vihor 2024

Serbian Armed Forces participating in the joint tactical exercise "Whirlwind 2024" continue with the implementation of training activities for conducting combat operations on land, in air and on inland waterways.
In this phase of the exercise, which is being conducted at 12 locations, units from the Land and Air components, as well as SAF special forces, in accordance with the received tasks and their purpose, perform section’s, platoon’s and company’s shooting drills, tactical exercises, training flights, bombing and rocketing, amphibious landings and overcoming water obstacles, in order to prepare for the next, even more complex, stages of the exercise.
Tanks and other armored combat vehicles, combat and transport aircraft, anti-aircraft missile systems, anti-tank missile systems, artillery weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles and remotely piloted aircraft, multi-sensor reconnaissance systems and modern firearms are actively used in the implementation of tactical and combat tasks.
Special attention was given to the collection and processing of intelligence data by the newly introduced equipment, protection of forces, control of the territory and continuity of telecommunication security and logistic support to the unit in the area of operation.
The units undergoing training went to the field at the beginning of last week, and the most complex activity will be performed at the temporary training ground "Pešter", on Friday, April 19, when the SAF joint forces will demonstrate the ability to carry out an offensive operation. Then the SAF forces will show determination, training level, firepower and high level of cooperation in responding to challenges, risks and security threats to the Republic of Serbia, and part of the combat equipment from the development sector of domestic defense industry will be presented as well.
