Visiting Serbian Armed Forces’ Members in Ground Safety Zone

Together with Defense Minister Bratislav Gašić and Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Lieutenant General Tiosav Janković, Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević has visited members of the 4th Army Brigade at the Kadrova Čuka Base in the Ground Safety Zone today.
While offering greetings for the Orthodox New Year, the Prime Minister has pointed out that he is happy to spend the first day of this year according to the Julian calendar with members of the Serbian Armed Forces and wished them a good and peaceful year 2025. Prime Minister Vučević has expressed his gratitude to the Serbian Armed Forces’ members for everything they did and do every day.
— Unlike others, that can be absent from work during major festivals and holidays, there are no holidays or leave for them. They have to carry out their tasks regardless of whether it is summer, winter, Christmas, New Year’s Eve or some other holiday, or whether it is a regular working day, for them, obligations are present every day - said the Prime Minister.
He has expressed his belief that joint investment by the entire state, with the support of the President of the Republic, Government, Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces, will make better conditions for our armed forces, enabling the continued reinforcement with the best equipment, weapons and uniforms.
— We are eagerly waiting for the first class of recruits in the fall, to bring back the good old custom of our young men performing military service, though over a slightly shorter period of time than before, and for the armed forces to be what they have always been, the people’s, the ones that are an inalienable part of the homeland, an inalienable part of our citizens. I wish to thank the Serbian Armed Forces and Ministry of Defense for all the tasks they performed in 2024 and I wish them a successful year 2025 - said Serbian Prime Minister.
Minister Gašić has recognized the Serbian Armed Forces’ members who, during the holidays, far from their families, are conscientiously and responsibly fulfilling their tasks in the Ground Safety Zone and thanked Prime
Minister Vučević for the help provided by Serbian Government, with unreserved support of the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić, so that our armed forces could be stronger, more modernized and better equipped, and their members more satisfied with their jobs, the living and working conditions.
Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, Head of the Office of the Minister of Defense Brigadier General Goran Momčilović and Commander of the 4th Army Brigade Colonel Siniša Nikolić were in attendance during today’s visit.
