Routine Training of Tank Units of Serbian Armed Forces
Friday, 27.1.2023 | Training
This week, members of the Army Battalion armed with T-72 MS tanks have undergone collective training and tactical drills at the barracks’ training grounds and exercise area in the vicinity of Niš.
In this unit, training is conducted in cycles throughout the year so as to maintain and upgrade the serving personnel’s skills for using the tanks in combat and undertaking armoured and anti-armoured actions on Army operations.
At this phase, tank crews refine the tactics of defensive and offensive combat actions and attend practical training in driving the tank safely in varied terrain and using its weapons efficiently. In the coming period, they are to be involved in tactical exercises and live firing, demonstrating in field conditions their tactical and firearms skills in performing intended tasks.
The training process also actively involves the soldiers on military service of the armour branch, posted to the unit after they have come through individual training at the Training Command Centres.
Through continuous execution of diverse exercise activities and practical training, SAF armoured units are provided with a high level of combat skills. Thanks to their high mobility and firepower, they are a basic Army and SAF maneuver force for conducting operations.
