Additional training for professional soldiers who have recently been appointed to the ships of the Serbian Armed Forces is underway in the River Flotilla units.
Training is carried out on the Danube River near Novi Sad and Belgrade, the intention being for all crew members to become qualified to fulfill efficiently not only their basic duty but also additional ones as part of ships’ combat stations.
In accordance with their specialties, the soldiers are trained to operate ships’ navigation and information systems, communicate in joint navigation, use ship's artillery weapons in combat, and service and maintain devices and mechanisms in the engine room.
In this phase, training is carried out both at the anchorage and in navigation, and the entire training process for new responsibilities concludes subsequently by conducting a tactical exercise and firing.
Professional soldiers’ additional training, carried out in the River Flotilla on a regular basis, improves the resistance, resilience and overall combat readiness of this component to carry out tasks on operations of the Serbian Armed Forces in the vicinity of waterways.
