Tank Crews Undergoing Training in Using T-72MS Tank

At training grounds and exercise areas in the vicinity of Niš, some of the professional components of the armored units of the Army are currently undergoing training with the T-72MS tanks.
The training activity is carried out by members of the Army brigades’ tank battalions, whose main combat asset is the M-84 tank. The goal is to train the Serbian Armed Forces’ tank crews in using both types of tanks in combat, which ensures the interchangeability of the component and improves the toughness and combat resilience of the armored units in operations.
In accordance with the training program which lasts for several months, during the first phase the tank crews learnt about the possibilities of employment of the T-72MS tank, its modernized subsystems and basic maintenance, so that they could now conduct tactical training in field conditions.
In this phase the focus is on practicing tactical actions while preparing and executing marches and reconnaissance and undertaking combat actions in enemy encounter, while integrating fire and tactical actions of all crew members.
In the next training phases, the tank crews are supposed to execute preparatory and school firing, then tactical exercises and live firing, when they will have the opportunity to put into action their knowledge and skills in integrating fire and maneuvers and see personally the combat capabilities of this complex combat asset.
