On this occasion, Assistant Minister Jankovic expressed the hope that the money collected for family Zivkovic will facilitate at least in a smaller extent fight with the illness and said that he was proud that the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces showed once again that they have a big heart.
In the charity event, which was launched in late March by Department for tradition, standard and veterans, members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces collected 1.421 million dinars, which again showed their unselfish willingness to help.
Jovana has already been bravely struggling for two years back with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Unfortunately, even after chemotherapy, radiation therapy and stem cell transplantation, her condition is not better. The doctors agreed that her only salvation is monoclonal antibody therapy. Since the drug is not registered in Serbia, it can be purchased from abroad at a price of 56 thousand euros, which the family Zivkovic itself cannot afford, especially because of the necessity of early commencement of the therapy.
In March, at the Great Hall of the Central Military Club in Nis, concert of the "Oro" ensemble was held, and all proceeds were intended for Jovana's treatment.
