Pontoon Bridge to Lido Beach Temporarily Removed

Due to the high water level and large amount of deposited material in the Danube River, which threatened the safety and use of the pontoon bridge from the Zemun Quay to the Great War Island, members of the pontoon units of the Serbian Armed Forces removed the bridge temporarily yesterday.
Reinstallation of the pontoon bridge is planned for this week, when the water level of the Danube is expected to decrease and allow for the safe use of the bridge.
To great satisfaction of the citizens of Belgrade, bridging the Danube from the Zemun Coast to the Great War Island has been made possible for years by members of the Serbian Armed Forces, and, this year, the pontoon bridge will be in operation until the end of August, when it will be dismantled and transported to its primary garrison.
