To mitigate the impacts of long drought that has caused water shortages in the villages near Pirot and Topola, the Serbian Armed Forces have deployed additional water tanker trucks to deliver drinking water to drought-affected households and their livestock.
A water tanker truck has been delivering drinking water for more than 200 cows and calves in the village of Vrtibog in Mt. Stara Planina since yesterday, and today, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are using another tanker truck to supply water to the households in the village of Žabare near Topola. At the request of the municipality of Ljubovija, as of tomorrow, another tanker truck will be delivering water to the residents of this municipality.
The Serbian Armed Forces have been engaged in delivering water to the drought-affected residents and their livestock in the territory of Vladimirci, Gornji Milanovac, Mionica and in Mt. Suva Planina for some time now, and will, as always, be on the ground, monitoring the situation and employing all their available resources at the request of emergency management offices.
