Intensive Training to Achieve Highest Proficiency of SAF Artillerymen

In accordance with the annual training plan, a period of intensive training of artillery battalions of the Serbian Armed Forces armed with self-propelled MLRS, which engage large targets with concentrated fire, is underway.
The training activity is carried out at the Serbian Armed Forces’ training grounds with the aim of sustaining and improving the collective skills and combat readiness of the units to provide fire support to maneuver forces on operations.
As part of the crews of artillery systems, soldiers and officers are practicing the tactics and procedures during defensive and offensive firing missions, simultaneously improving their personal ability to perform their own and additional roles.
Artillery Battery Commander and Training Instructor Major Ivica Vidanović points out that during the training process professional soldiers acquire a “routine for working with the combat system”.
— In the recent period, the artillery battery has been engaged in various exercises. The unit is fully equipped to perform tasks. Apart from that, we continue with intensive training, since we are talking about new sophisticated assets which require constant training - says Major Vidanović.
Training in the Serbian Armed Forces is a constant and crucial task. It is carried out in cycles, in accordance with priorities set by commanders so that the units could be always ready to perform combat operations in any terrain, tactical and weather conditions they may encounter while performing their tasks.
