The Start of the Flight-Tactical Exercise BARS 2018

An international flight-tactical exercise “BARS 2018” started today with the participation of the members of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Serbian Armed Forces and their colleagues from Air and Space Forces of the Russian Federation.
Today, by signing technical agreement on Batajnica airfield, an international flight-tactical exercise “BARS 2018” started with the participation of the members of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Serbian Armed Forces and their colleagues from Air and Space Forces of the Russian Federation.
The agreement was signed by the Exercise manager Brigadier General Željko Bilić, Commander of the 204th Air Brigade, and Deputy Exercise manager Colonel Konstantin Surikov.
The goal of the exercise, which is to last until 6th October, is to raise the level of operational capabilities of the air forces of the two countries. The flight activities will start tomorrow, and they will include the tasks of air space control and protection and search and rescue tasks. The activities are going to be executed in the air space of the Republic of Serbia and they will be carried out by mixed crews in the aircraft of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Serbian Armed Forces.
This is the fourth exercise of this kind alternately executed in the territory and air space of the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation.
