Final Part of Active Phase of Exercise “Whirlwind 2024”

The joint tactical exercise “Whirlwind 2024” has entered the final phase in which the Serbian Armed Forces execute the most complex exercise activities at permanent and temporary training grounds.
In the final part of the active phase, the focus is on joint drills and tactical live-fire exercises, aiming to check and improve further the capabilities of forces to undertake combat actions in crisis response operations.
Today, at “Pasuljanski Livade”, a tactical group has conducted exercise while executing an offensive operation. During the exercise, infantry, mechanized, armored and artillery units have carried out complex tactical and fire missions and demonstrated in practice a high level of competence in performing combat tasks in interoperability.
Tanks and other armored combat vehicles, artillery, anti-aircraft systems, anti-tank missile systems, mortars and various types of modern small arms have been used, and remotely piloted aircraft and multi-sensor reconnaissance systems were actively used during the exercise.
Concurrently, a tactical exercise of the River Flotilla of the Serbian Armed Forces was carried out at the temporary training ground near Titel. On the Tisa, the units practiced combat and tactical actions during anti-ship and anti-mine actions, anti-raid defense of ships, overcoming water obstacles and rescuing and evacuating the injured; the exercise activities ended with groups of ships executing joint live firing at land and water targets.
The activities at the training ground near Titel were observed by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Mile Jelić and Head of the Operations Diretorate (J-3) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Major General Tiosav Janković.
