Day of Military Geographical Institute Marked

A military ceremony was held today in the Military Geographical Institute "General Stevan Bošković" in Belgrade on the occasion of the Day of this scientific and research institution and the Day of the Geodetic Service of the Serbian Armed Forces.
On the occasion of the holiday, the most significant results of the institution's work in the past year were presented at ceremony and awards were given to the best individuals, as well as certificates of thanks to the institutions with which the Institute of Military Geography achieved successful cooperation.
The celebration of the holiday was an opportunity to highlight the expertise and professional attitude of the employees in carrying out the geotopographic security tasks of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as the excellent results achieved in the field of research, development and production activity of the Institute.
The Day of the Military Geographical Institute and the Day of the Geodetic Service are marked on February 5, 1876, when the decision was made to form the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, which included a department dedicated to surveying Serbia for military purposes.
