Tuesday, 9.7.2024 | Training
The training of members of the Serbian Armed Forces for operating armored combat vehicles in peacekeeping operations is in progress at "Borovac" training area and at "South" base near Bujanovac.
The training is carried out on "Milos" multi-purpose wheeled vehicles, which will in the future be used by the Serbian Armed Forces contingent during the implementation of tasks in the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon.
In order to fully master this modern combat asset, officers and soldiers undergo theoretical and practical forms of training in classrooms and on training areas. Now, in field conditions, they acquire knowledge and skills for overcoming obstacles and safely operating vehicles in difficult terrain, at the same time training for their exploitation, maintenance and elimination of possible malfunctions, as well as for the handling of weapons and the execution of fire and tactical tasks.
This training is only one segment of the comprehensive months-long preparations that the drivers and gunners of the Serbian Armed Forces go through before being deployed to the area of operation in order to be fully qualified for the implementation of tasks as part of the peacekeeping forces.
Multipurpose wheeled armored combat vehicle M-16 "Milos", domestically manufactured, is intended for the execution of various combat tasks in offensive and defensive operations. It is equipped with a remote-controlled combat station with a 12.7 mm machine gun and can operate day and night, making it a modern and effective combat system.
