Gun Salute and Promenade Concerts to Mark Serbian Armed Forces Day

By order of Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, on the occasion of 23 April, Serbian Armed Forces Day, the SAF Guard members have fired a gun salute from Sava Plateau on Kalemegdan today.
The gun salute of 10 volleys from six artillery weapons was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević.
On the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day, there have also been traditional promenade concerts of the Guard-Representative Orchestra and Niš Military Orchestra. To the sound of Serbian marches and popular compositions, military musicians paraded through central streets of Belgrade and Niš, while the citizens applauded and observed them, enjoying the works of famous composers.
The Serbian Armed Forces celebrate their holiday on 23 April, in memory of the day of the outbreak of the Second Serbian Uprising in 1815, which was a turning point in the creation of the modern Serbian state and armed forces.
