Friday, 3.1.2025 | Stories from Units
Members of the armoured units, equipped with the Army’s most powerful and useful systems, are trained for fast, daring, sudden and powerful action and they undergo continuous training to maintain a high degree of readiness for the execution of assigned tasks.

Training is one of the key tasks in the 47th Mechanized Battalion, 4th Army Brigade, as well.  Through training, soldiers and leaders improve the knowledge and skills they need to perform battlefield operations using M-80A infantry fighting vehicles.

This tracked vehicle is the principal combat vehicle used by mechanized battalions in Army brigades. It enables the infantry units to enter the battle rapidly giving them adequate fire support, which greatly contributes to the protection of own forces and the success of operations.

The infantry fighting vehicle driver, Corporal Ivan Đurović, says that the training is conducted throughout the year to maintain and improve the personnel’s ability to perform their tasks. According to him, the members of the 47th Mechanized Battalion are highly motivated and committed to fulfilling assigned tasks and are ready to respond to all challenges in order to protect the security of our country and our citizens.

Corporal Miloš Vukomanović, a machine gunner, says that his job requires a dedicated person, ready to face various challenges, and adds that the training is challenging, but also very interesting. He calls on all interested young men and women under 30 years old, who are fond of the military profession, to apply for the competition, which is open until February 15, and join the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces, perhaps this very unit, as infantry fighting vehicle operators/gunners and drivers.

The competition for admission to tank, artillery and mechanized units is an opportunity for young people, regardless of whether they have completed their military service under arms or not, to get a secure and high paying job with early retirement benefits, military health insurance for themselves and their family members and opportunities for continuous professional development and career advancement.
