Gun Salute on Occasion of Victory Day

On the occasion of the Day of Victory over Fascism, members of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard have performed a gun salute at Kalemegdan today.
After raising the national flag and playing the anthem, the order of Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić was read, based on which members of the Guard conducted the gun salute with six artillery pieces firing ten volleys.
The gun salute was attended by Acting Assistant Minister of Defense for Human Resources Siniša Radović, Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Lieutenant General Želimir Glišović, Head of the Military Cabinet of the President of the Republic Brigadier General Predrag Kraljević and Commander of the Guard Colonel Željko Furundžić.
The Day of Victory over Fascism is marked in memory of 09 May 1945, when the unconditional capitulation of Germany ended the Second World War in Europe.
