International Exercise "Platinum Wolf 21"
Friday, 11.6.2021 | Training
As part of the international exercise "Platinum Wolf 21", which is being conducted from 3 to 18 June at the "South" base and at the "Borovac" range, members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the armed forces of nine other countries are carrying out intensive training activities.
Mixed teams practice tactics, techniques and procedures with non-lethal weapons that are used when being deployed in multinational operations. Fighting in the urban environment, base defence, blockade and search of the terrain, work at the checkpoint, conducting motorized and infantry patrols and giving first aid are part of the exercise activities planned by the training program. A virtual battlefield simulator is also used in the training.
The exercise is conducted with the aim of improving interoperability and mutual understanding of the armed forces personnel at the tactical level during peacekeeping operations in a multinational environment.
"Platinum Wolf" is the exercise that has been implemented in Serbia since 2014 with the idea that, in addition to pre-deployment training for participation in multinational operations, an incentive is given for the development of the base "South" as a regional training center. This year, members of the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Romania, the United States, Slovenia, Great Britain, France and Serbia are participating in the exercise.
