Humanitarian Campaign by SAF Contingent in Central African Republic
Saturday, 3.6.2023 | Multinational Operations
Members of the SAF Contingent in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) have organized a humanitarian campaign at the Centre for Mothers and Children in Bangui, the capital city, this week.
A donation consisting of basic necessities for the residents of this institution has been collected by our staff officers and members of Military Hospital Role 2+, continuing the practice of previous SAF contingents deployed on this mission. Except for the donation, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been engaged in arranging the space for play and recreation at the Centre for Mothers and Children, which made the youngest residents especially happy.
Apart from their humanitarian character, such activities by SAF members contribute additionally to strengthening mutual confidence and support of local population for the tasks performed in this African country.
The Serbian Armed Forces started to participate in MINUSCA in 2014 by deploying their medical and non-medical personnel. Except for Military Hospital Role 2+, they also deploy their members as staff officers and military observers. The Serbian Military Hospital, which became fully autonomous and self-sustaining three years ago, provides medical care (Role 1 and 2) to UN personnel, emergency surgeries and other emergencies, primary dental care and CASEVAC.
