Day of 72 Special Operations Brigade

A military ceremony has been held today at the “Rastko Nemanjić” Barracks in Pančevo on the occasion of the Day of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, celebrated on January 27 in memory of the unit’s first successfully completed combat mission.
On the occasion of the holiday, a ceremonial parade has been held, key achievements in building combat readiness were presented, awards and certificates of appreciation were handed out to individuals and institutions, and wreaths were laid at the memorial to the fallen members of this elite SAF unit.
While making a reference to the results achieved in the year behind us, it has been pointed out that members of the Brigade preserved the highest level of competence, professionalism and morale, as well as that the equipping with weapons and military equipment continued to the highest standards, which significantly improved the unit's ability to carry out specific tasks.
The ceremony has been attended by Head of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Affairs Directorate (J-2) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Brigadier General Dragan Arsenijević, former commanders of the unit, family members of the fallen members of the Brigade, representatives of units of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces, Serbian Orthodox Church, local government bodies, Ministry of Internal Affairs and veteran associations and institutions with which the unit cooperates.
Today, members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade have marked the unit’ St. Patron’s Day, St. Sava’s Day - St. Sava being the first Serbian archbishop.
