Winter Training of Army Scouts

Thursday, 26.1.2023 | Training
This week, members of the Army Armored-Reconnaissance Battalion have been undergoing tactical winter training.

This training is part of the scouts’ routine exercise activities; it aims to maintain professional members’ high-level skills in providing intelligence support on SAF operations.

For several days, scouts execute activities in complex mountainous terrain; they practice tactical actions of scout patrols, camouflage procedures, how to bring the unit into the AO, surprise raids and ambushes. The training process involves the use of modern devices for observation and gathering/processing intelligence data on the ground, in all conditions, day and night.

Training of reconnaissance units is a continuous and demanding process which takes place in different terrain across the country so that scouts could be ready to provide efficient response to situations similar to those they could face deep within enemy disposition.
