Serbian Armed Forces engaged in flood relief in Ivanjica and Ljig

It has been for seven days already that the members of the Army and the Air Force and the Air Defence have been engaged in the flood relief activities in the municipalities of Ivanjica and Ljig.

An Engineering Task Force, comprised of members of the 210th Engineer Battalion of the Second Army Brigade and 310th Engineer Battalion of the Third Army Brigade, has been engaged since last week on eliminating consequences of natural disaster in the municipality of Ivanjica.
 
The state of emergency on the territory of this municipality was declared on 6th July due to the large problems caused by abundant precipitation, and since 18th July, engineering personnel of the Army with six engineering machines have been repairing the roads in the local communities of Devići and Ostatija, where it has been planned for them to stay until 8th August. So far, they have cleaned up and levelled the route in the length of two kilometres and reconstructed the two and a half kilometres of the road by filling, spreading and coasting of materials. The works include also cleaning and replacement of ducts and channels for water drainage.
 
In the Ljig municipality, members of the 333rd Engineer Battalion of the Air Force and Air Defence have been engaged for seven days on cleaning and rehabilitation of the Kozeljica riverbed, the arrangement of the coastal belt and the repair of rural roads damaged by recent floods.
