Wednesday, 4.9.2024 | Multinational Operations
The Serbian Armed Forces members who have been deployed in the multinational peacekeeping operation on the Sinai Peninsula since March this year, have returned to the Republic of Serbia after successful redeployment from the mission and handing over their duties to the new contingent.
This is the second rotation of the Serbian Armed Forces engineering unit deployed in this mission of the independent peacekeeping organization "Multinational Force and Observers". During their deployment, they responsibly and professionally performed all the given tasks, which earned them the highest marks and approval from the command of the multinational forces in this mission.
They were replaced in the area of operation by members of the third rotation of the Serbian Armed Forces engineering unit, who, after handing over their duties, began their six-month deployment in performing engineering and infrastructure works in the mission camp in the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula.
The mission of the independent peacekeeping organization "Multinational Force and Observers" was made in accordance with the agreement between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel in 1981, with the aim of implementing the security provisions of the Egyptian-Israeli Agreement from 1978, and since July last year the Serbian Armed Forces has deployed a ten-member engineering work group as part of the American contingent.
