There has been a traditional humanitarian campaign at the Military Airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica today, during which New Year’s packages were handed out to students of schools for children with developmental disabilities.
For ten consecutive years, this event has been organized by members of the 204th Air Force Brigade and “Osmeh na dar“ (Smile as a Gift) humanitarian foundation, in an effort to make the upcoming holidays more cheerful for students from institutions dedicated to bringing up children in a festive atmosphere, with New Year’s packages.
As part of the activity, a plane from the 138th Transport Squadron brought Santa Claus and Fairy Godmother to the Batajnica Airfield stop, who then handed out packages to students of School for Primary and Secondary Education “Anton Skala” from Stara Pazova and Secondary Vocational School for Developmentally Disabled Children from Belgrade. The students had the opportunity to enter the plane and socialize with the crew.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces actively participate in a number of humanitarian campaigns, not only in the country but also during engagement in peacekeeping operations, thus showing that, following the basic military values, they are always ready to devote attention and provide help to those who need it most.
