Minister Vulin Visits Works at the Military-civilian Airport “Morava”

Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin, accompanied by Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense, Major General Duško Žarković and Commander of 98 Airborne Brigade of the Air Force and Air Defense, Colonel Dejan Vasiljević, visited today the works that are being performed within the Morava airport complex.
Following his visit, Minister Vulin pointed out that, in accordance with the order of the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, the Serbian Armed Forces are investing great efforts to prepare the military-civilian airport “Morava” within the agreed deadline.
- 333 Engineering Battalion, 98 and 204 Airborne Brigade, our Deminers, they have all done their best in cooperation with the civil works personnel to make this airport functional, to meet all the required norms, to enable the largest civilian aircraft to land here in the foreseeable future and within the time frame planned – says the Minister of Defense.
According to him, the Serbian Armed Forces are doing their job and it is in this way that they are demonstrating how important it is to have an equipped Armed Force, Engineers and all those people who are working with so much enthusiasm to introduce the civilian in addition to the military function to this military airport, and thus significantly help the development of Kraljevo and the region.
During today’s visit, Commander of 98 Airborne Brigade of the Air Force and Air Defense, Colonel Dejan Vasiljević, and associates, informed Minister Vulin about the stage of implementation of works at the airport, which are related to the runway and accompanying infrastructure.
As previously announced, by Vidovdan this year all works at the mixed civil-military airport are due to be completed, including the extension of the runway, the illumination, as well as certain works on equipping the passenger terminal.
Today’s visit to Morava Airport was also attended by the State Secretary Bojan Jocić, Head of the Department for Infrastructure, Colonel Radmilo Kravić, and Head of the General Staff Logistics Department Colonel Srđan Petković.
