Reception for Members of “Kobre”

Today a reception was organised with Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin for members of Serbian Armed Forces – Lieutenant Commander Igor Ignjatović and Sergeant Major First Class Branislav Bulatović, who won first two places at a competition in pistol shooting, held in the USA.
Minister Vulin rewarded Lieutenant Commander Ignjatović and Sergeant Major First Class Bulatović for commendable representation of Serbia and Serbian Armed Forces at the competition and for a high level of competence and skilfulness that they had demonstrated with a seven-day stay with one family member in the “Omorika” hotel on the mountain of Tara.
Lieutenant Commander Igor Ignjatović from the Military Police Battalion (for special purposes) “Kobre”, who won the first place, points out that the competition was strong and that some 150 participants competed in the events of rifle and pistol shooting.
- The competition was strong, but I have to point out that the hosts and conditions for the competition were good. An aggravating circumstance was the fact that we fired from their weapons which is not in our service. We fired in compliance with their rules and terms of competition, but we tried to give our best and worthily represent our state and armed forces that we come from - Lieutenant Commander Ignjatović emphasises and adds that he will use the gained experiences for the enhancement of training in the unit to which he belongs.
Sergeant Major First Class Branislav Bulatović, the first NCO of the Military Police Battalion (for special purposes) “Kobre”, who won the second place, said that the surprise of the host with the success of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces at the competition had been all the more greater since the members of the Serbian Armed Forces had been familiarised with the rules of the competition, conditions and armament immediately before the competition.
- They were surprised with the result and said that those were the first foreigners who had achieved that level. They thanked us for helping them in making the competition national in character. They sincerely congratulated us and wished us a lot of happiness, and to return again and check if we were really that good, which we accepted – said Sergeant Major First Class Bulatović.
Commander of the Military Police Battalion (for special purposes) “Kobre”, Lieutenant Colonel Goran Colić points out that everyone is extremely satisfied with the success of the two Battalion members and proud of the result achieved by them. He adds that the gained experience at the competition will help in developing operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The organiser of the competition from which the members of the Serbian Armed Forces returned as winners, was the Ohio National Guard, with which the Serbian Armed Forces has a long-lasting successful cooperation in the framework of bilateral relations of the Republic of Serbia with the USA.
The reception of the minister of defence was attended by Head of Military Police Department Brigadier General Rajko Milovanović and Head of Private Office of the Minister of Defence Brigadier General Siniša Kresović.
