Training in Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion
Wednesday, 11.1.2023 | Training
In the exercise area of Niš and its vicinity the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion’s service members are currently receiving routine training needed for performing unit-specific intelligence-gathering tasks.
This is an important segment of training and drills the Battalion’s Command and its subordinate units are subjected to throughout the year to maintain and increase the scouts’ intelligence-gathering abilities in support of Army operations. The training process involves the use of modern electronic devices for day/night data gathering and analysis as well as the armoured reconnaissance vehicles BRDM-2MS.
During training activities, scouts refine the tactics, procedures and the use of equipment for observation and collection of intelligence in field conditions. They also organize and carry out scout patrols, surprise raids and ambushes. The training conditions are designed to resemble those that could be encountered by scouts while carrying out missions deep within enemy disposition.
Continued training is instrumental in preserving the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion’s high combat-readiness and its competence for accomplishing all intended missions in diverse tactical, weather and ground conditions and providing intelligence necessary for successful Army and SAF operations.
